Dean Martin (1917 - 1995) was an American singer, actor, and comedian from Steubenville, Ohio. He began his career in the entertainment industry in the 1940s as a nightclub singer and later as a member of the popular comedy duo, Martin and Lewis, with entertainer Jerry Lewis. After the duo parted ways, Martin went on to have a successful solo career in music, film, and television.
With his smooth voice, effortless charm, and laid-back persona, Martin gained global recognition as a member of the "Rat Pack," a group of entertainers that included Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., and others. Martin's career soared with hits like "That's Amore," "Ain't That a Kick in the Head," and "Everybody Loves Somebody." He showcased his versatility by excelling in both musical performances and comedic roles in films such as "Rio Bravo" and "Ocean's 11."
Martin's charisma extended to his successful television show, "The Dean Martin Show," which ran for nine seasons. Beyond his entertainment career, he was renowned for his effortless coolness and offstage generosity. Dean Martin remains an enduring symbol of timeless talent and style.
Martin was also a regular at the Golden Steer. The restaurant was a celebrity hotspot in the Golden Era of Vegas, and Martin was among the most frequent visitors along with his Rat Pack friends. When dining at the Steer, he would entertain friends from Booth 21 and often order his favorite dish, the Filet Mignon.
Martin's patronage helped to establish the Golden Steer as a legendary destination in Las Vegas, and we honor his legacy at the Steer to this day with our signature cocktail, Sippin’ with Dino.
