Bowtie Seasoning Recipe: Italian Meatball Sub

Serve these flavor-packed delights on a toasted piece of rustic bread or a hoagie roll, top with your favorite sauce and mozzarella cheese, then enjoy!

Here's how to cook up some of these yummy sammies for yourself at home: 


  • 1 pound ground meat (beef or pork)
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 1/3 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon Bowtie Seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon Sergio’s Seasoning
  • 2 cups of bread soaked in milk (a @millennialnonna signature touch)
  • 2 tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil (for frying)
  • 2 tablespoons of butter (for frying)
  • Rustic sandwich roll or bun
  • Mozzarella cheese


  1. Soak the bread in milk until mostly absorbed. Squeeze out the excess milk and return to bowl.
  2. Mix ingredients together by hand and form balls, making sure to not pack too tightly.
  3. Fry meatballs in extra virgin olive oil and butter at medium heat on all sides until fully cooked.
  4. Add to your sauce of choice, then serve immediately on a rustic bread roll or bun with mozzarella.
