Here's how to make a tasty batch of these savory delights for yourself:
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 tablespoon baking powder
- 4 teaspoons Bowtie Seasoning
- 1 1/2 teaspoons French Cuffs Seasoning
- 5 1/2 tablespoons butter, cold and cubed
- 1 1/3 cups shredded cheddar
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 egg
- Pinch of salt
Directions:
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, Bowtie Seasoning, French Cuffs Seasoning, and a pinch of salt.
- Add the cold, cubed butter to the flour mixture. Using a pastry cutter or your fingertips, cut the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. If the butter starts getting too warm, put the mixture into the fridge for 5 to 10 minutes.
- Mix in the shredded cheddar.
- Use a spoon to make a well in the mixture and add the buttermilk and egg. Fold in lightly with a spatula, being careful not to overmix.
- Once thoroughly combined, shape the dough into a rectangle and cut into 6 even squares or rounds.
- Let the biscuits rest for 1 hour before baking.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- Brush the biscuits with melted butter. Sprinkle with shredded cheese and Bowtie Seasoning.
- Bake the biscuits for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Once baked, remove the biscuits from the oven and allow them to cool for a few minutes before serving.
- For an added flavor punch, enjoy with a dab of our De Jonghe Butter. Bon appétit!
